Planet Aid Inc.
Founded in Boston in 1997, Planet Aid opened operations in New Hampshire in September 2008. After relocating from Manchester NH to offices and a warehouse located on Celina Avenue in Nashua in October 2009, Planet Aid became a member of the Nashua Chamber of Commerce and additionally, is a proud member of the North East Recycling & Recovery Association (nrra.net) and the NH Businesses for Social Responsibility as well as other local area Chambers. Originally only offered to School Districts and Colleges, Planet Aid expanded our fund raising program to include local businesses that select a non-profit organization as a quarterly beneficiary. Planet Aid is a non-profit organization whose objectives include development, relief aid and protecting the environment. Planet Aid has supported more than 50 projects worldwide by providing over $60 million in aid. The EPA reports that only 15% of textiles are recycled nationwide and that the average person discards 10 pounds of clothing per year. The Planet Aid warehouse located in Nashua currently services over 1.9 million people in New Hampshire, Vermont & Southern/Western Maine….this equates to 19 million pounds of used textiles that if not collected by Planet Aid WOULD BE DUMPED IN OUR LOCAL LANDFILL!!!
