The 20th annual Stamp Out Hunger National Association of Letter Carriers’ Food Drive held on May 12, 2012 brought in over 13,000 pounds of food to the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf.   Letter carriers in over 10,000 communities across the country organize the effort to collect donated food from homes along their daily route and work with hunger relief organizations like the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf  to distribute that food to those in need.

As the largest direct service emergency food provider in the state of Vermont, the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf distributes nearly 2 million pounds of food each year and Stamp Out Hunger is its largest single food drive.
