Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf needs turkeys

The Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf is renewing its call to the community to help provide turkeys for over 2,700 families in Chittenden County.

The food shelf has served more than a thousand new clients in the past year and anticipates more families will need turkeys than ever before.

Donors can drop off turkeys or at 228 N. Winooski Ave. in Burlington. The food shelf also accepts donations of canned goods and other Thanksgiving fixings.

Drop-off times

• 8 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays

• 3-6 p.m. Nov. 19-20 and Nov. 23-24

• 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 21
