October 19, 2009 – Burlington Free Press

SOUTH BURLINGTON — Candles & Creations is turning 2 and will celebrate from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday. The store is kicking off the event with a food drive for the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf.

Owners Casey Webster and Heather Paine have prepared free gifts for the first 50 people who bring a non-perishable food item for donation.

The two hope to fill their delivery van full of food to bring to the food shelf.

In addition to the gifts for the first 50 customers who bring in a non-perishable food item, there will also be free entertainment, sales, readings, book signings with local author Elvia Atherton of Shelburne signing her book “One Step Closer, a bridge from grief to healing” from 10 a.m. to noon, and Wendy Stofan Halley of Northfield signing her book “Slaying the Mouse: A true story of healing in the spirit realms” from 1-3.
