CHEESE TRADERS FIGHTS HUNGER

SOUTH BURLINGTON — Cheese Traders and Wine Sellers is challenging its patrons and the community at large to chip in and fight hunger in Chittenden County.
During a week-long garage sale that begins today, Cheese Traders will have coin drop jars at their registers, raising money for the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf.
While shoppers come for discounts on cheese, specialty food items and more than 50,000 bottles of wine, they will also have the opportunity to give money to help families in need.
“As local business owners, we feel that it is our duty to give back to the community that supports our store,” said Cheese Traders owner Robert Bachofen.
Bachofen and his wife Maye will match the donations patrons with a direct donation to the Food Shelf.
“The Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf is so grateful for the support of Cheese Traders,” said Rob Meehan, food shelf director. “In today’s economy, we are seeing more people than ever before needing assistance, and community partners like Cheese Traders are vital to fighting hunger in Chittenden County.”
